Who will you be working with?
I trained as both a state-certified bilingual secretary and as a state-certified translator at IDI Sprach- und Dolmetscherinstitut in Stuttgart.
I then went on to specialise in legal translations, enrolled at Hamburg University and was finally sworn in in 2011 at Stuttgart District Court, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. In July 2020 I completed a B.A. History degree from the University of London (Royal Holloway).
Since way back in 2008, I’ve worked with agencies, companies and individual clients in Stuttgart, elsewhere in Germany, and all over the world.
I worked as a part-time freelancer whilst also working at Stuttgart Airport for Deutsche Lufthansa AG and TUIfly GmbH until 2015. That meant I built up plenty of experience in the air travel and tourism industry, which is my other field of expertise alongside law and economics. Since 2015, I’ve been working as a full-time freelance translator.
By choosing to work with me, you get the best of both worlds. I blend the efficiency and professionalism of an agency with the personal touch and pricing of a freelancer.

Memberships
To prove my professionalism, I’m a member of BDÜ, Germany´s largest professional organisation for translators and interpreters.
To become a member, you have to be qualified in several fields, ensuring the standards of quality are kept high.
It’s important to be aware that “translator” is not a protected professional title in Germany, so everyone can claim to be one. Only proven training, documentation and membership mean you can be sure you’re working with a pro.
Volunteer work
I am very pleased to have passed Translators without Borders’ (TWB) “Introduction to Humanitarian Translation” course and to now be able to translate on a voluntary basis for this great organisation.
Translators without Borders (TWB) is the world’s leading non-profit translation organisation. TWB’s goal is a world without language barriers and to provide translation services to non-profit organisations in the areas of crisis relief, health and education.
By connecting non-profit organisations with a professional community of translators, TWB provides affected people with access to vital knowledge in their respective languages.
